Delsignore wins mock stock competition

After starting on April 1, the mock stock competition finally came to an end on May 8 after a month of frantic buying and selling of theoretical investments. Junior Joe Delsignore notched the top prize of a $100 lunch credit.

Board games. Crossword puzzles. Face-to-face conversation. Some of these may be unfamiliar to St. Louis U. High students, but last Friday, April 19, St. Louis U. High’s Campus Ministry hosted its inaugural iFree Day in an effort to reacquaint them with these older means of passing the time.

The junior class has elected seven executive officers for next year’s Student Council (STUCO).

“I am thrilled with the group. I, in many ways, am sad that I won’t be the one working with them,” said STUCO moderator Lauren Dickens, who is departing at year’s end. “The group of guys that stepped forward, (and who) want to be involved in student body and the class, are outstanding.”

Courthouse battle leaves Mock Trial second in State

The St. Louis U. High Mock Trial team suffered through a heart-breaking loss to Clayton in the final round of the State competition last Sunday. At first, the team thought that it had won State for the second straight year before learning, to their dismay, that they had lost, four ballots to three.

Quiz Bowl fourth in field of eight

St. Louis U. High’s varsity Scholar Bowl team competed in the Parkway West Varsity Invitational Tournament last Saturday. Seniors Dominic LaMantia, Kieran Connolly, and Nathan Mackey played for the Jr. Bills, alongside juniors Noah Weber and Sidarth Iyer.
