The St. Louis U. High varsity basketball team travelled to CBC on Tuesday and lost 80-61 in its first MCC competition this season. The start of the game was very promising for SLUH, but they weren’t  able to keep up with CBC.

After losing to Oakville 39-33 and Windsor 42-27, the St. Louis U. High varsity wrestling team bounced back last Saturday in the Patriot Classic. Despite the team placing 6th overall, the individual performances by the varsity wrestlers exceeded all expectations.

The St. Louis U. High freshman rifle team had its first match last Wednesday, Dec 4. The team went up against Heritage Christian Academy and put up some competitive scores. Freshman Austin Wald held the top score with an impressive score of 94 in the prone position.

The St. Louis U. High racquetball team fought against several different teams and players on the courts of Vetta Concord last weekend during the annual Winter Rollout Tournament.

Biology teacher Megan Menne had her second child on Friday, Nov. 22, but remained in the classroom until the day before St. Louis U. High’s Thanksgiving break commenced. With Menne on maternity leave until mid-February, Bobby Schultz, ’98, began his term as Menne’s substitute on Monday when students returned from break. Schultz is excited to bring his love for wilderness biology and his experience gained from traveling the icy regions of the country into the classroom.

With visual arts teacher Sean Powers taking a leave of absence to care for his wife, librarian Madeline Powers, as she prepares to have her child, the iconic, retired SLUH art teacher John Mueller is filling in for Powers until Christmas break.
