After a promising start, revamped football team finishes at 5-4

It almost seems unfair for this year’s Jr. Billiken football team. Following up one of the most successful seasons in recent SLUH history, the 2012 Jr. Billiken football team shattered expectations and made the year a great success with their incredible heart, leadership, and explosive play on the field, leading to a 5-4 record and playoff appearance.

Covered in mud and drenched in sweat, the Jr. Billikens played under the lights Friday night for the last time this season. The Billikens fought hard on the gridiron against the Ritenour Huskies, but due to some untimely mistakes and Ritenour’s stellar play, the Footbills lost in the first round of the playoffs.

Wingo ties single game touchdown record with seven; offense on fire

The Jr. Billiken offense has been on a tear over the past two weeks, scoring 90 points in the team’s two wins over Mehlville (42-14) and Oakville (48-31). With key defensive plays and outstanding individual performances, the Footbills have found their stride heading into the playoffs.

Jr. Bills run through by Lafayette Lancers on Friday night’s 50-20 defeat

The Jr. Billikens had hoped to get back on track with a big win over the touted Lafayette Lancers last Friday night. Unfortunately for the Jr. Bills, the Lancers had other plans as they handed the Footbills a 50-20 loss, pushing the SLUH record back to the .500 mark.
